To promote resurgence of Telugu language and culture, Academy is most appropriately named after the renowned Indologist C.P. Brown. An advisory council of eminent litterateurs helps the Academy in chalking out its plans and programmes. 

Following are the Present Activities :

  • To help create a learning infrastructure for the benefit of Telugu children and help them understand, appreciate and stay connected with their rich linguistic, literary and cultural heritage.

  • To consolidate the accumulated scholarship and classical & contemporary literature in Telugu at a comprehensive Resource Centre.

  • To facilitate creation, publication and popularization of literary works of excellence in Telugu.

  • To launch a movement to develop and enrich the Telugu language by borrowing words liberally from other Indian and Foreign languages.

  • Publishing Quarterly Literary Magazine - "Sahiti Sravanti"

  • Presentation of Annual—‘Telugu Bharathi Puraskaramu’ - which carries a cash award of Rs. 2.50 lakh, a gold medal and a citation to a person for outstanding life-time contribution to Telugu language and literature.
