Telugu Bharati Purasakaram-2009

Dr. Biruduraju Ramaraju, a National Research Professor of Government of India, is a veteran in Folklore literature and a former professor and Head, Department of Telugu, Osmania University, Hyderabad. He has been selected for the award of Telugu Bharati Puraskaramu – 2009 instituted by C P Brown Academy, Hyderabad. This prestigious “Puraskaramu” carries a cash award of Rs.2,50,000/-, a Gold Medal and a Citation. His Excellency Sri Narayan Datt Tiwari, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, presented the award to Prof. B Ramaraju at a function held on 11th June, 2009 at Darbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Hyderabad.

The ceremony on 11.06.2009 commenced at 6.30 p.m. with invocation by Ms. Chaithra. In his address, Shri. GRK Murty, Managing Editor, and Member, Advisory Council of C P Brown Academy, welcomed the gathering and gave a brief note on the various activities of the Academy. Prof I V Chalapathi Rao, former Registrar of CIEFL , presidedover the function. Smt D Sujatha Devi read out the Citation. His Excellency Shri Narayan Datt Tiwariji, Governor of Andhra Pradesh, felicitated Prof. Biruduraju Ramaraju with a shawl, a Gold Medal and presented a cheque for Rs.2,50,000/-.In his reply, Prof B Ramaraju thanked the Academy for the honour bestowed on him. 

His Excellency, Shri Narayan Datt Tiwariji, in his message appreciated the work done by Prof B Ramaraju in the field of Folklore literature in Telugu.
